Our seasons in Gerringong … Autumn in Gerringong is a hidden secret…my son and I still swam until the Anzac weekend and lay in the sand and loved it. Every local knows it, but the holiday makers stop coming after summer ends, but they shouldn’t…the country side is greener than green, warm with the Autumn sun, the water is still above 21c, the air is clean and the tress are undressing right before your eyes…an awesome time to experience the south coast….a typical day is 23c, no winds or breeze, warm sun and chilly nights Winter is quiet anyway, sadly Sydney siders flock else where, when a beach walk in winter will clear any stressed minds and cure lonely hearts….there is something romantic about beaches in winter, warm fires in our restaurant and wine lounge, in room movies under our doona’s in our king size pillow topped beds and amazing food and stunning wines to indulge in…not to mention the array of treatments you can have in our stunning day spa….a typical day is 19c, occasionally wet but not cold and the odd day with warming sun, but the nights can get cold Spring is wedding & flowering season and time to leave the house…like autumn, spring is beautiful as everything is budding or flowering, calves and foals are being born around us, the magpies swoop, the tress sprout newness and everyone is smiling again…amazing what the sun does!....a typical day of 23-26c, can get windy and some nights still chilly. Summer and madness has hit…the town grows form 5000 locals to 20,000 daily tourists, parking is frustrating, the staff work hard and the hotel is busy, busy…busy and we just love it. Sunrise over Werri beach takes your breath away as well as sun set over the hills…oranges and reds are often all you see. The beach beckons, the surf is up, the surfies and life savers are out and Gerringong is alive and well, thanks to the sun and tourists…typical day 30c and nights that you can sleep, never too hot with our sea breeze. So come on down any time.... the south coast is always the place to visis any season! Cheers from Gregg Currie The Owner |
